This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and safeguard your personal information when you use the App or our website.

• Provide core app features including food scanning, calorie tracking, and nutritional analysis
• Personalize your calorie targets, macro goals, and recommendations
• Generate gamification features including XP, streaks, quests, and leaderboards
• Enable social features such as friend leaderboards and shared food stories
• Power Coach Slop conversations using your nutrition history
• Process and manage subscriptions
• Improve the App's performance, AI systems, and overall user experience
• Measure marketing performance and improve the subscription experience when you grant tracking permission on iOS
• Send important service-related communications such as account security notices or policy updates

We do not sell your personal data. On iOS, if you grant App Tracking Transparency permission, we may use limited device, attribution, and subscription-related event data to measure marketing performance and improve the subscription experience.

• Supabase: Backend infrastructure and authentication provider that stores account data, body data, and app activity securely
• OpenAI and other AI providers: Food images and messages are processed to generate nutritional analysis and coaching responses. Data is not retained beyond the request unless required for functionality.
• RevenueCat: Subscription management provider that receives a pseudonymous user ID and subscription status
• Attribution and measurement partners: If you grant tracking permission on iOS, limited device identifiers, campaign attribution data, and in-app events related to installs, trials, or subscriptions may be shared so we can understand marketing performance and improve the subscription experience
• Apple: Payment processing for App Store subscriptions
• Legal authorities: When required by law or necessary to protect our rights

We do not sell personal data or share your nutrition entries, body metrics, or food photos with data brokers.

On iOS, Slop Detector may request permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt to track activity across apps and websites.

If you allow this permission, we may collect and share limited device identifiers, attribution data, and in-app events such as installs, trial starts, paywall activity, or subscription outcomes so we can measure marketing performance and improve the subscription experience.

If you do not allow this permission, we do not use data from your device for that cross-app tracking on iOS. You can change this choice later in your iPhone or iPad Settings.

You may choose to create or log into your account using third-party authentication providers such as Google or Apple.

When you sign in using these providers, we may receive basic account information such as your name, email address, and a unique profile identifier associated with your account. We do not receive or store your password from these providers.

This information is used solely to authenticate your identity, create and manage your account, and enable secure login to the App.

We do not sell this sign-in information. Any iOS cross-app tracking for marketing measurement is described separately in the App Tracking Transparency section and is not required to sign in.

When you scan food, your image is transmitted to our AI processing pipeline to generate a nutritional analysis.

• The image is used solely for analysis
• A compressed reference, not the full original image, may be stored in your account
• We do not use your food photos to train third-party AI models without your explicit consent

If you enable social features:

• Your food scan results, including meal name, calories, and thumbnail, may be visible to users who follow you
• Your username and stats, including XP, streaks, and level, may be visible to friends
• You can control this visibility at any time in Settings

We collect body-related information such as height, weight, age, and goals to provide personalized calorie targets and nutritional recommendations.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active.

If you delete your account using the in-app Delete Account feature or submit a request through our public Delete Account page or by email to support@slopdetector.io, your personal data will be deleted within 30 days unless retention is required by law.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Restrict or object to processing
• Request data portability

Slop Detector is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If such data is identified, we will delete it promptly.

We use industry-standard safeguards including encrypted transmission over HTTPS and TLS, secure cloud infrastructure, and access controls.

However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your information may be processed and stored in Canada and other jurisdictions where our service providers operate.

If you access the App from outside Canada, you consent to the transfer of your information to Canada and to other jurisdictions where data protection laws may differ from those in your home country.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you through the App or by email.

Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
